Join us in celebrating 15 years! In 1998, California voters passed Proposition 10, the ballot initiative that created First 5 commissions in every county in the state to support the healthy development of children from birth through 5 years of age.
First 5 invests in local programs and systems-change efforts focused on young children and their families. One out of every four children in California is a First 5 kid! Last year alone, the 58 First 5 county commissions invested over $519 million to improve the lives of 978,983 California children.
On March 19, Assembly Speaker John Perez is hosting a 15th anniversary event at the State Capitol to look at the impact that Proposition 10 has made on young children in California. Click here for more information: March 19 invite.
